Job summary

MTM Transit in Livermore, CA seeks a Manager, Safety and Training to implement safety and training programs per Leadership of Safety Administration and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and client guidelines.

This role, contingent on contract award, requires leading safety initiatives, auditing, and strong collaboration with operations and maintenance teams to drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in a related field.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a safety culture across departments including operations, safety and maintenance.
• Oversee safety incentives and programs, and manage Safety Points.
• Implement SMS safety plans and ensure compliance with FTA/DOT regulations and client policies.
• Monitor location insurance claims to control costs and enable timely closures.
• Lead local safety committee and SMS Ambassador group activities.
• Manage workers' compensation program to minimize claims and ensure compliance.
• Deliver safety and mobility training in line with contracts and company requirements.
• Ensure new hires meet division qualifications including background and DMV checks.
• Keep safety manuals and policies current and aligned with operations needs.
• Support audits by company, client, internal staff, and regulators.
• Analyze accidents/incidents for causes and preventive trends for training.
• Collaborate with leadership to run comprehensive safety meetings and plans.
• Act as location drug program manager ensuring FTA/DOT compliance.
