Job summary

MTM Transit in Livermore, CA is seeking a Manager, Safety and Training to implement safety and training programs and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. The role supports a contractual award and reports to Safety Administration leadership.

Responsibilities include driving a safety culture across departments, overseeing incentives, delivering training, and managing audits and incident reviews. Salary ranges from $72,000 to $98,000 annually with full benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years transit safety management experience.
• CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsements.
• Pass pre-employment drug test and DOT physical.
• Thorough knowledge of ADA, FTA and DOT regulations.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage safety culture across operations, safety, and maintenance.
• Oversee safety incentives and programs effectively.
• Implement SMS safety plan and initiatives.
• Manage DAMIS reporting requirements.
• Lead safety committee and SMS Ambassador groups.
• Deliver classroom and behind-the-wheel safety training.
• Ensure new hires meet qualifications including background and DMV checks.
• Complete related audits and respond to incidents.
