Job summary

IndyGo, the largest public transportation provider in Indiana, seeks a Payroll Associate to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing for its workforce in Indianapolis. You will review time data, administer deductions, reconcile records, and collaborate with Finance, HR, and external payroll partners.

The role requires meticulous attention to detail, confidentiality, and strong communication to resolve employee payroll questions and support audits and month-end close.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
• Two or more years of payroll processing, payroll administration, accounting, or related experience required.
• Experience processing payroll in a complex, multi-department, unionized, public sector, transportation, or similarly regulated environment preferred.
• Experience with ADP payroll system, timekeeping, ERP, and other financial systems preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Process regular and off-cycle payrolls accurately and on schedule, reviewing time, pay authorizations, deductions, and adjustments for accuracy and completeness before processing.
• Coordinate with the Accounting Department on off-cycle payroll processing.
• Review and validate timecard information and identify missing or inconsistent information requiring correction.
• Analyze complex payroll issues and authorize corrective payroll actions within authority limits.
• Lead payroll process improvement initiatives and develop recommendations for implementation.
