Job summary

River Valley Transit in Middlesex County seeks an Operations Supervisor to oversee bus operators, dispatch daily routes, and ensure safe, timely service. You will train staff, monitor performance, and coordinate with the Operations Manager to keep service running smoothly.

Responsibilities include supervising operators, addressing operational issues, handling trip planning, maintaining logs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Ability to supervise employees and manage drivers, dispatchers, and customer service staff.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficiency with scheduling software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Supervise bus operators in their duties and ensure safe operation of vehicles.
• Act as dispatcher when required, handling trip requests, planning, confirmation and cancellations.
• Maintain daily trip logs, driver manifests, and logs; monitor performance and enforce policies.
• Investigate incidents, coordinate with operators and authorities, and identify root causes for training.
• Assist in inclement weather operations and respond to emergencies.
• Prepare performance reports and maintain effective communication with drivers and the public.
