Job summary

Estuary Transit District, operating as River Valley Transit, seeks an Operations Supervisor to oversee bus operators, dispatch daily trips, and ensure safe, on-time service for Middlesex County residents.

You will train staff, monitor performance, manage scheduling, and assist in accident response while maintaining records and customer service standards. A CDL B with airbrakes/P endorsement and DOT readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to supervise employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work.
• Knowledge of shuttle-based transportation operations and safety regulations.
• Strong customer service and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to gather data, prepare reports, and maintain recordkeeping.
• Connecticut Driver’s License and CDL B with airbrakes and P endorsement.
• Proficiency in using scheduling software and MS Office.
• Ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol test and DOT physical.
• Excellent communication with drivers, human service agencies, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Supervises bus operators and monitors performance.
• Acts as dispatcher, handles trip planning and scheduling.
• Investigates accidents and assists in service restoration.
• Maintains driver manifests and trip logs.
• Ensures fare collection and cash reconciliation standards.
• Prepares reports and maintains records as required.
