Job summary

MTM Transit in Livermore, CA is seeking a Manager, Operations to lead transit staff, oversee drivers, dispatch, and maintenance, and implement short- and long-term strategic processes to meet contractual requirements and enhance safety and service quality.

The role emphasizes staff development, budget adherence, and collaboration with the client, with opportunities for growth, comprehensive benefits, and a focus on providing safe, reliable transportation to passengers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in transit management.
• Previous management experience in Para-Transit or livery preferred.
• Experience working with seniors or persons with disabilities.
• Experience supervising hourly personnel in a passenger transportation environment.
• Experience training in classroom and behind-the-wheel settings.
• Experience in managing a Union environment preferred.
• CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of Transit Drivers, Dispatchers, and operations employees and their daily performance, to ensure safe, efficient, effective operation, including scheduling, expenditures, attendance and discipline
• Perform monthly Safety meetings
• Training, retraining and updates to policies, procedures and safety guidelines
• Perform Driver evaluations as required by contract, as well as ADA, DOT, and FTA requirements
• Communicate regularly with client to ensure positive productive relationship, and to assist them with updates, information, and system upgrades as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned or required
• Monitor performance of direct reports and provide coaching and guidance
