Transdev North America, Inc. is seeking a General Manager to lead a transportation business unit. You will drive strategic direction, manage a multi-disciplinary team, and ensure safety, service, and financial targets are met across routes and contracts.

The role requires strong leadership, budget discipline, and a proven ability to collaborate with clients, unions, and regional teams. This position emphasizes compliance with DOT rules and corporate safety standards.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in a relevant field is desirable, though experience may substitute.
• Experience in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, or related field.
• At least 5 years of managing a fixed route or paratransit operation of similar size and scope.
• Knowledge of relevant federal and state employment laws.
• Thorough knowledge of transit system regulations and operations.
• Ability to manage cost control and financial budgets.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to influence at all levels.
• Experience navigating labor relations and working with unions.

Responsibilities

• Builds relationships with employees, clients, union partners, and the local community.
• Sets commercial and operational strategic direction for the business unit as per contract.
• Leads the management team to achieve safety, service performance, and financial goals.
• Identifies and develops growth opportunities.
• Optimizes returns on assets including scheduling, maintenance, and performance management.
• Monitors KPIs to maintain positive results and ensures budget adherence.
• Ensures compliance with DOT and corporate safety standards.
