Transdev North America, Inc. seeks a General Manager to proactively manage Essex County operations in NJ. The role oversees safe, reliable service, employee oversight, contract assets, risk, client satisfaction, and financial performance.

The position requires building relationships with employees, unions, and the community, setting strategic directions, and driving growth while ensuring regulatory compliance and environmental stewardship. Travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree desirable; experience and education may substitute.
• Experience in business administration, logistics, transportation or related field preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience managing a fixed-route or paratransit operation of similar size and scope.

Responsibilities

• Builds relationships with employees, the client, union partners, and the local community.
• Sets commercial and operational strategic direction for the business unit team according to location/client contract.
• Leads the management team and workforce to achieve safety, service performance, and financial objectives.
• Identifies and develops business growth opportunities.
• Optimizes return on assets by vehicle scheduling, maintenance, and performance management.
• Identifies and analyzes KPIs to maintain positive results.
• Ensures services are provided within budget and implements improvement plans.
• Delivers the business unit budget.
• Ensures compliance with regulations and safety standards.
• Oversees staff management and development in liaison with corporate teams.
• Ensures environmental compliance and sustainability management.
• Provides accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Travel 10% outside of immediate area.
