Job summary

Transdev North America is seeking an Operations Manager to act as the operations liaison, coaching drivers and coordinating with both client and Transdev teams. You will oversee shift performance, ensure process compliance, and drive improvements across dispatch and operations.

You will manage safety evaluations, oversee performance-based pay for staff, and participate in Lean/Kaizen initiatives. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory experience in operations.
• Knowledge of the service area and map reading ability.
• Ability to generate reports and schedules using a computer.
• Ability to supervise others and make quality operational decisions.
• Ability to read and interpret system operating rules, regulations, policies, routes.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
• On-call availability for 24/7 operations.
• Flexibility to work weekends, nights and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily activity of the Operations Supervisor to ensure efficient operation.
• Lead special projects and programs assigned by the General Manager.
• Attend client meetings to represent the GM or other managers as needed.
• Communicate clearly with Transdev management and client stakeholders.
• Support client operations leadership in dispatch management, including meetings and communications.
• Participate in Lean/Kaizen and other Operational Excellence initiatives.
• Interpret metrics, identify opportunities and drive results.
• Ensure compliance with global process standards and drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate safety evaluations and manage performance-based pay programs for subordinates.
• Coordinate, monitor and supervise activities of subordinates and inform management of issues.
• Ensure daily operation processes are executed as planned (assignments, start of shift, debriefs).
• Respond to service problems, outages, rerouting, accidents, and incident reports; assist with post-accident reporting.
• Interact with passengers as needed and support safe operations.
• Investigate unsafe conditions and make corrective recommendations.
• Develop program work plans with client staff and oversee daily operations.
• Maintain records and confidentiality; perform clerical duties as needed.
