City of Gainesville Regional Transit System (RTS) seeks a Community Builder to manage transit operations, supervise Transit/Paratransit staff, and coordinate field operations. You will oversee scheduling, safety, and service delivery, ensuring compliance with regulations and union contracts.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and the ability to respond effectively in emergencies, with a focus on maintaining reliable service for Gainesville residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; two years college in business administration, urban transportation, planning or related field preferred.
• Two years mass transportation experience, supervisory experience preferred.
• Equivalent education and experience may be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of Transit/Paratransit Operators to ensure compliance.
• Provides information to the public on routes, schedules, fares and points of interest.
• Responds to requests for transit information and location data for public buildings.
• Maintains route maps and schedules; estimates distances and times.
• Coordinates field operations during emergencies and special events; supervises transfers.
• Inspects safety practices and training of operators; assists with training reports.
