Job summary

The City of Gainesville is seeking a Managerial/Technical lead for the Regional Transit System (RTS) Operations. This position directly supervises Transit/Paratransit Operators and coordinates all transit operations within established rules and union contracts, exercising independent judgment in field emergencies.

Responsibilities include supervising schedules, responding to public inquiries, conducting field surveys, and coordinating safety and training.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising Transit/Paratransit Operators.
• Ability to coordinate field operations and emergency services.
• Knowledge of routes, schedules, and public information procedures.

Responsibilities

• Plans, assigns, and reviews work of Transit/Paratransit Operators to ensure compliance with rules.
• Provides information to the public pertaining to routes, schedules, transfers, fares, and transit data.
• Maintains route maps and schedules; estimates times and distances.
