Job summary

Ridempta is seeking a Maintenance Fleet Supervisor to oversee Mechanical Diesel Technicians on an assigned shift, ensuring safe, efficient maintenance and service of mass transit vehicles. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and requires coordinating with Transportation and Dispatch to keep units ready for pullout.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of repair, overhaul and servicing principles for heavy-duty transit vehicles.
• Knowledge of electronic engine/transmission diagnosis and repairs.
• Knowledge of supervisory methods and procedures.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to execute preventive maintenance plans for mobile Equipment.
• Must maintain a current North Carolina CDL, Class B with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements.
• Willing to work days, nights, weekends, holidays; shift may vary.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Mechanical Diesel Technicians on an assigned shift.
• Schedule and assign work and shift rotations.
• Inspect and supervise work to ensure compliance with repair standards.
• Ensure units are clean and safe for service before release.
• Make operating decisions with guidance from Maintenance Manager.
• Instruct and demonstrate safe use of tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Communicate with Transportation and Dispatch about vehicle availability.
• Provide feedback and counseling to Maintenance staff; issue violations when needed.
• Maintain policies, procedures, and work rules adherence.
