Job summary

California Transit Association is seeking a Dispatcher who reports to the Operations Control Manager. The role focuses on making work assignments to bus operators under the labor agreement, maintaining service, and coordinating radio communication with field supervisors.

Extended shifts may be required. The dispatcher will develop daily plans, ensure on-time operations, verify time clocks and licenses, and uphold safety and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating daily dispatcher activities.
• Familiarity with transit labor agreements can be helpful.
• Strong communication with field supervisors and operators.
• Customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops a daily dispatch plan based on equipment and operator availability.
• Maintains scheduled/unscheduled service with minimal overtime costs (>99%).
• Knows and interprets the labor agreement when scheduling the extra board.
• Coordinates radio contact with bus transportation supervisors and dispatches as needed.
