Job summary

Methodist Hospital Northeast in Texas is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (CRT) to assess, treat and care for patients with pulmonary disorders. You will operate ventilators, manage therapy deliveries, and monitor responses to treatment as part of the care team.

The ideal candidate has graduated from an approved Respiratory Therapy Program, is licensed in Texas, and holds an NBRC credential (RRT or grandfathered CRT). BLS is required on hire and ACLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• 1-year prior Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.
• Texas license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner to practice in TX.
• NBRC credential: RRT or grandfathered CRT prior to 2002.
• BLS on hire; ACLS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up devices such as mechanical ventilators and aerosol generators.
• Provide emergency care including artificial ventilation and CPR assistance.
• Collect and analyze arterial blood gases and interpret values.
• Follow physician orders for treatment duration, mode and dosage.
• Monitor patient response using vital signs, ABG, SpO2 and ETCO2.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals.
