Job summary

Methodist Hospital Metropolitan is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) to join a team dedicated to treating pulmonary disorders in a busy hospital setting. You will assess patients, administer therapies, and manage the clinical aspects of respiratory care under physician orders.

The role requires an approved Respiratory Therapy program graduate, Texas licensure, and NBRC credential (RRT preferred or CRT grandfathered). BLS required; ACLS/PALS/NRP within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• 1-year prior Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.
• Current Texas license to practice Respiratory Care.
• NBRC credential as RRT or grandfathered CRT before 2002.
• BLS on hire; ACLS within 90 days; PALS/NRP within 90 days if required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up devices like ventilators and gas therapy per treatment parameters.
• Provide emergency care including artificial ventilation and CPR assistance.
• Collect and analyze arterial blood gases and interpret values.
• Follow physician orders and evaluate treatment requirements.
• Monitor patient response using vital signs, ABGs, and oximetry.
• Consult with physicians, nurses, and health care professionals as a care team.
