Job summary

Methodist Hospital Northeast is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (CRT) to assess, treat, and care for patients with pulmonary disorders. You will perform clinical respiratory care modalities and manage therapy under physician orders.

The role includes operating ventilators, providing emergency support, and monitoring patient responses with ABG, vital signs, and capnography. Texas licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and NBRC credentials are required or grandfathered CRT

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• 1-year previous Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.
• Must possess a current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Texas (Texas Medical Board).
• Must possess a current NBRC credential: RRT or CRT (CRT grandfathered if issued before 2002).
• BLS upon hire and ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• PALS/NRP within 90 days if department requires.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up devices such as mechanical ventilators and respiratory care products following treatment parameters.
• Provide emergency care including artificial ventilation and CPR support.
• Collect and analyze arterial blood gases; interpret values and respond with interventions.
• Follow physician orders and evaluate therapy requirements (type, mode, duration).
• Monitor patient response via vital signs, ABG, breath sounds, SpO2, and capnography.
