Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Training Manager to lead the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of training programs for hourly manufacturing teams, with a focus on welders, tubers, electricians, and insulators.

The role partners with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Safety and Production leadership to establish training strategies, qualification standards, and career progression paths, while driving workforce capability and engagement across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 6 years in manufacturing operations, workforce development, technical training, skilled trades, or a related field.
• Experience leading training programs within a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of welding, tubing, electrical, insulation, or other industrial manufacturing processes.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and project management skills.
• Experience developing training curricula, qualification standards, certification programs, and skills matrices.

Responsibilities

The Training Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of training programs for hourly manufacturing employees, with a primary focus on Welders, Tubers, Electricians, and Insulators. This role ensures employees are trained, qualified, and certified to safely and effectively perform their jobs while meeting production, quality, and safety standards.

The Training Manager partners with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Safety, and Production leadership to establish training strategies, maintain skill qualification programs, and develop career progression pathways for skilled trades employees. The role oversees training governance, monitors workforce competency, manages training records and certifications, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen workforce capability, productivity, quality, and employee engagement.
