Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Training Manager to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of training for hourly manufacturing employees, with a primary focus on Welders, Tubers, Electricians, and Insulators. This role ensures employees are trained, qualified, and certified to safely and effectively perform their jobs while meeting production, quality, and safety standards.

The Training Manager partners with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Safety, and Production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 6+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, workforce development, technical training, skilled trades, or related field.
• Experience leading training programs within a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of welding, tubing, electrical, insulation, or other industrial manufacturing processes.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and project management skills.
• Experience developing training curricula, qualification standards, certification programs, and skills matrices.
• Ability to influence leaders and employees at all levels of the organization.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and continuous improvement of training programs for hourly manufacturing employees.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Safety, and Production leadership to establish training strategies.
• Maintain skill qualification programs and career progression pathways for skilled trades.
• Oversee training governance, monitor workforce competency, and manage training records and certifications.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen workforce capability, productivity, and engagement.
