Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Training Manager to lead development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of programs for hourly manufacturing staff, with a focus on Welders, Tubers, Electricians, and Insulators.

You will partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Safety, and Production leadership to shape training strategies, qualification programs, and career pathways across the site, ensuring safety, quality, and production goals are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in manufacturing operations, workforce development, technical training, skilled trades, or a related field.
• Experience leading training programs within a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of welding, tubing, electrical, insulation, or other industrial manufacturing processes.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and project management skills.
• Experience developing training curricula, qualification standards, certification programs, and skills matrices.
• Ability to influence leaders and employees at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and continuous improvement of training programs for hourly manufacturing employees, focusing on Welders, Tubers, Electricians, and Insulators.
• Ensure employees are trained, qualified, and certified to safely and effectively perform their jobs while meeting production, quality, and safety standards.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Safety, and Production leadership to establish training strategies, maintain qualification programs, and develop career progression pathways for skilled trades employees.
• Oversee training governance, monitor workforce competency, manage training records and certifications, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
