Job summary

The Peninsula Hotels in Chicago is seeking a Training Manager to lead the in-house Learning & Development program and support People & Culture objectives. You will partner with department heads to identify training needs and align initiatives with luxury hospitality standards.

Responsibilities include designing the annual Training Plan, managing the LMS and records, coordinating mandatory compliance training, and overseeing performance appraisals across the organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of Learning & Development experience, preferably within a luxury hospitality environment.
• Experience in training facilitation, leadership development, and employee development programs.
• Experience partnering with department leaders to identify training and performance improvement needs.
• Experience administering and tracking compliance training programs.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and digital learning platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop annual Training Plan and schedule training activities.
• Formulate and administer training policies, including orientation, mandatory training, and career development.
• Coordinate, facilitate, and track mandatory corporate and legal compliance training programs.
• Develop and facilitate departmental trainers for training programs.
• Design and facilitate instructor-led, online, and blended learning solutions.
• Oversee annual performance appraisal processes for staff and management.
• Maintain and enhance the Learning Management System and training records.
• Administer corporate training initiatives launched by the Corporate Office.

Key Accountabilities

• Management of in-house training and development function
• Act as an in-house consultant to identify training needs with department heads for all levels based on current industry trends, business objectives, operating philosophy of the hotel, and workforce requirements
• Develop annual Training Plan and schedule training activities according to business needs and operational priorities
• Formulate and administer training and development policies and procedures, including orientation of new hires, mandatory training for specific roles, training required for promotion and career development, external training, and training library resources
• Coordinate, facilitate, and track mandatory HSH corporate and legal compliance training programs, including harassment prevention, bystander intervention, and human trafficking awareness training, ensuring timely completion and accurate recordkeeping
• Develop and facilitate departmental trainers to deliver training programs within their respective areas
• Design and facilitate training programs through instructor-led, online, and blended learning solutions
• Oversee annual performance appraisal processes for line and management employees
• Maintain and enhance the Learning Management System and training records
• Administer learning and development programs launched by the Corporate Office

• Ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization

The salary range for this role is $75,000-85,000 per year and is bonus eligible.
