Job summary

The Peninsula Chicago is seeking a Training Manager to lead its Learning & Development function. You will partner with department heads to assess needs, develop annual training plans, and deliver programs across instructor-led, online, and blended formats in a luxury hospitality setting.

You will oversee compliance training, performance appraisals, and the Learning Management System while supporting career development and a high-performance culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of Learning & Development experience, preferably within luxury hospitality.
• Experience in training facilitation, leadership development, and employee development programs.
• Experience partnering with department leaders to identify training and performance improvement needs.
• Experience administering and tracking compliance training programs.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Manage in-house training and development function.
• Act as in-house consultant to identify training needs with department heads for all levels.
• Develop annual Training Plan and schedule activities.
• Formulate and administer training policies, including orientation and mandatory training.
• Coordinate, facilitate, and track mandatory corporate and legal compliance trainings.

• Design and deliver training via instructor-led, online, and blended learning.
• Oversee annual performance appraisal processes for staff.
• Maintain Learning Management System and training records.
• Administer learning programs launched by Corporate Office.

Working alongside a high profile and prestigious team, The Peninsula Chicago is seeking a Training Manager to join our team to achieve the company's objectives and support our People & Culture operations.

Key Accountabilities:

• Management of in-house training and development function
• Act as an in-house consultant to identify training needs with department heads for all levels based on current industry trends, business objectives, operating philosophy of the hotel, and workforce requirements
• Develop annual Training Plan and schedule training activities according to business needs and operational priorities
• Formulate and administer training and development policies and procedures, including orientation of new hires, mandatory training for specific roles, training required for promotion and career development, external training, and training library resources
• Coordinate, facilitate, and track mandatory HSH corporate and legal compliance training programs, including harassment prevention, bystander intervention, and human trafficking awareness training, ensuring timely completion and accurate recordkeeping
• Develop and facilitate departmental trainers to deliver training programs within their respective areas
• Design and facilitate training programs through instructor-led, online, and blended learning solutions
• Oversee annual performance appraisal processes for line and management employees
• Maintain and enhance the Learning Management System and training records
• Administer learning and development programs launched by the Corporate Office

General Requirements:

• Experience administering and tracking compliance training programs
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and digital learning platforms
• Strong presentation, facilitation, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization

To be considered for the position, you must have work authorization in the United States. The salary range for this role is $75,000-85,000 per year and is bonus eligible.
