Job summary

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent education/experience
• DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes experience
• Able to supply basic tools or purchase through toolbox program
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends if needed

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventive maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, air brake systems and FHWA inspections
• Troubleshoot trailer issues and perform intermediate repairs to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders and adhere to SRT and warranty guidelines
• Assist with onboarding and mentorship of trailer technician trainees
• Participate in Original Equipment Manufacturer training for OE repairs
• Understand and follow shop safety procedures
• Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers
