Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep fleet equipment running smoothly through preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and timely repairs. You will read precision instruments, diagnose mechanical/electrical issues, and ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA standards in a safety-conscious, team-oriented environment.

You’ll work on various rolling stock and related equipment, potentially performing welding, and must maintain accurate records while adhering to

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as maintenance technician or equivalent education.
• Must provide own tools for job duties.
• Ability to complete required paperwork and records.
• Must possess a valid CDL when required.
• Knowledge of truck/trailer systems and diagnostics.
• Willing to participate in training and possibly shift changes.
• Able to read/write English.

Responsibilities

• Repair company equipment in a safe, timely, cost-effective manner.
• Build, rebuild and repair components as needed.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical or other failures in trucks or related equipment.
• Read precision instruments like micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, voltmeters.
• Apply knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC, OSHA rules and regulations.
• Perform welding where applicable and complete required tests.
• Maintain safety and quality standards in all work.
