Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our fleet in peak condition. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and ensure timely repairs to meet safety and service standards.

The role requires reading precision instruments, performing tests, and using diagnostic tools while following DOT/EPA/ICC/OSHA rules. Strong teamwork and hands‑on problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High School degree or equivalent.
• Experience as maintenance technician or equivalent education.
• Experience with truck repair, body and frame repair.
• Must provide own tools to perform job duties.
• Must possess a valid CDL (when required).
• Knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules.

Responsibilities

• Repair company equipment in a safe, timely, cost effective manner including preventative maintenance, general repairs, troubleshooting and electronic diagnostics.
• Build, rebuild and repair all parts of company equipment as required.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical or other breakdowns on trucks or trailers.
• Read precision instruments and use diagnostic tools to identify issues.
• Apply welding skills to complete truck repairs when needed.
