Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep fleet equipment in top condition. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and ensure timely repairs to support reliable service.

You will read precision instruments, use diagnostic tools, and comply with industry standards. A tool‑ready, safety‑minded professional with CDL and strong teamwork will thrive here.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a maintenance technician or equivalent.
• Experience with truck repair, body and frame repair.
• Must provide own tools to perform job duties.
• Ability to complete required paperwork and records.
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (when required).
• Working knowledge of most systems on trucks/trailers.
• Willing to attend company training classes.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on company equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or other failures in trucks and trailers.
• Read precision instruments and use electronic diagnostic tools.
• Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis on components and systems.
• Weld where required for converter dollies or truck repairs.
• Comply with DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain care for safety and quality in all tasks.
