Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Shop Trailer Mechanic II to join our on-site shop team in the United States. This position handles certified DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, light repairs, and related duties in a dedicated shop environment.

You will work under supervision of a Sr Shop Trailer Technician, assist with diagnostics, and document all work in Repair Orders using the Karmak system. A valid DOT credential and tool proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years' related experience.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA compliance and pre-employment background.
• Current DOT medical card preferred; if not, DOT physical required.
• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license.
• Experience with DOT inspections and preventive maintenance on trailers.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and preventive maintenance on trailers.
• Identify parts required and coordinate with Parts Department.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and document work on RO.
• Assist with diagnostics and repairs under supervision.
• Operate hand tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks.
• Complete DOT forms and related documentation.
