Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Shop Trailer Mechanic II to perform certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, light repairs, and other duties in a dedicated on-site shop. The role requires adherence to DOT, FMCSA and safety policies while working with senior technicians to develop advanced skills.

The successful candidate will use a range of trailer tools and hand tools, maintain equipment, and document findings on Repair Orders while upholding company standards and customer service

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
• Must possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations knowledge and ability to pass pre-employment background screening.
• ASE T8/T4/T5/T6/T7 certifications preferred; 608/609 certifications notable.

Responsibilities

• Perform certified DOT inspections and Preventative Maintenance inspections.
• Repair light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a shop environment.
• Collaborate with Service Writer to assess customer needs and options.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and document work on RO with photos.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and timely.
• Follow safety policies and comply with OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations.
