Job summary

Cox Fleet is currently hiring a Shop Trailer Mechanic II for an on-site role. You will perform certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, and other duties under supervision.

The position emphasizes safety, accuracy, and adherence to company policies within a shop environment. The role requires a HS diploma, 3 years’ related experience or ASE certifications, valid CDL/driver’s license, and the ability to work day shifts with occasional physical tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification or equivalent preferred.
• ASE T4/5/6/7 certifications preferred.
• 21+ years old with valid driver’s license (DOT/FMCSA context).
• Experience with DOT inspections and PMs is valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform certified DOT inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Carry out routine trailer repairs and component replacements.
• Prepare and document repairs on RO; maintain safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with Service Writer to determine parts and estimates.
• Keep work area clean and maintain tools and equipment.
