Cox Fleet is hiring a Shop Trailer Mechanic II for our on-site shop. The role involves certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, and tasks such as brakes, air lines, pumps, and welding.

You will support more complex repairs under supervision and help meet high performance metrics in a demanding shop environment. The position emphasizes safety, tool use, and adherence to company policies, with opportunities to advance under a dedicated career path and comprehensive

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with related field experience or 5 years in related field
• Valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain within 72 hours of hire
• Welding experience required
• Own set of hand tools to perform required job duties
• ASE certifications are preferred and helpful

Responsabilités

• Follow safe operating practices and procedures
• Determine parts required and interact with Parts Department
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and tools
• Collaborate with Service Writer to assess customer needs and repairs
• Manage multiple tasks with effective prioritization
• Complete DOT forms and required documentation in a timely manner
• Perform PM inspections and repairs on trailers in a shop setting
• Diagnose, adjust and repair trailer brakes, air lines, pumps and engines
• Inspect and test equipment using handheld meters and gauges
• Assist senior technicians with diagnostics as needed
