Job summary
Cox Fleet is hiring a Shop Trailer Mechanic II for an on-site role supporting DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, light repairs, and trailer systems. The position operates in a shop environment with supervision from a Sr Shop Trailer Technician and opportunities to learn advanced mechanical skills.
Candidates must have a HS diploma or GED with related experience or a strong combination; bring tools, ASE T8 within 18 months is required, a valid DOT card, 21+ years old and a valid driver's
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED with related field experience or equivalent
- Must supply a set of hand tools
- ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months preferred
- DOT/FMCSA requirements including DOT medical card
- 21+ years old and valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Perform DOT inspections and preventive maintenance on light, medium, and heavy-duty trailers in a shop.
- Carry out scheduled maintenance and repairs (oil changes, brakes, air lines, engines, lifts, etc.).
- Document work on Repair Orders (RO) using RO system or Karmak.
- Assist in diagnosing and repairing trailer systems and components.
- Ensure safety practices and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
