Job summary

Cox Fleet is looking for a Shop Trailer Mechanic II to perform certified DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and a range of repairs in an on-site shop setting. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork within our shop environment.

You will handle tasks from brakes and air lines to welding and fabrication, with opportunities to advance under supervision. We value reliability and compliance with all DOT and safety standards.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED and 3 years related experience
• Own set of hand tools
• ASE certs preferred
• 21+ for interstate work

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PMs on trailers in a shop setting
• Carry out light to heavy repairs on trailer systems
• Weld, fabricate, replace panels and frames as needed
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of the shop
• Document work on Repair Orders and photos
