Cox Fleet is hiring a Shop Trailer Mechanic II for an on-site shop position. You will perform certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs on trailers, with opportunities to advance under supervision.

The role emphasizes safety, tool use, and accurate documentation. The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of related experience, DOT medical card, and ASE T8 certification within 18 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years in a related field.
• Supply and use hand tools for trailer maintenance.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations knowledge; DOT medical card requirement.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe operating practices at all times.
• Determine parts needed and coordinate with Parts to obtain them.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and assist in end-of-day cleanup.
• Perform PM, DOT inspections, and repairs on light to heavy-duty trailers.
• Document work performed and parts used in Repair Orders.
