Depot Connect International (DCI) in Decatur, IL is seeking a DOT-certified Trailer Mechanic with 3–5+ years of tank and trailer repair experience to join our team.

You will diagnose faults, perform mechanical and electrical repairs on tank trailers, service tanks, install suspensions, work with air brake systems, and TIG/MIG weld when needed.

Qualifications

• Must be DOT certified with 3–5+ years tank and trailer repair experience.
• Ability to diagnose failures and perform mechanical/electrical repairs on tank trailers.
• Experience with tank service, suspension installation and repairs.
• Knowledge of air brake systems; TIG/MIG welding preferred.
• DOT HM183 awareness; High School Diploma or GED required.

Trailer Mechanic

We are currently searching for DOT certified mechanics with 3-5+ year(s) of tank & trailer repair experience for our Decatur, IL location!

Shift Hours:Monday through Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm.

Pay Range: Dependent on experience.

Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• TIG & MIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (preferred)
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)
• Must obtain a High School Diploma or GED

Physical Demands:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
