Job summary

Depot Connect International (DCI) is seeking a DOT-certified Trailer Mechanic for our Decatur, IL location. The role requires 3–5+ years of tank trailer repair experience and expertise in diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues on tank trailers.

Qualifications

• DOT certified mechanic with 3–5+ years of tank trailer repair experience.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems on tank trailers.
• Experience with air brake systems; TIG/MIG welding preferred.
• Ability to inspect tanks/trailers for DOT HM183 hazmat compliance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems on tank trailers and equipment.
• Perform tank service and trailer repairs.
• Inspect trailers to ensure DOT HM183 compliance and safety.
• Work in Decatur, IL with a 7:00am–3:30pm shift.

Trailer Mechanic

We are currently searching for DOT certified mechanics with 3-5+ year(s) of tank & trailer repair experience for our Decatur, IL location!

Shift Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm.

Pay Range: Dependent on experience.

(Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.)

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• TIG & MIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (preferred)
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)
• Must obtain a High School Diploma or GED

Physical Demands:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
