Job summary

Depot Connect International (DCI) is seeking a Trailer Mechanic in Joliet, IL, to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems on tank trailers. The role requires DOT certification and 3–5+ years of tank and trailer repair experience, with opportunities to work on tank service and suspension installations.

The position offers a 7:00am–3:30pm shift, Monday–Friday, at an address in Channahon, IL, with pay ranging from $22.00 to $39.00 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• DOT certified mechanics with 3-5+ years of tank & trailer repair experience.
• Ability to diagnose failures and perform repairs on mechanical, electrical or other systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair; trailer suspension installation and repair.
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs.
• TIG/MIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience preferred.
• Ability to inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT HM183/hazmat standards.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures and repair mechanical, electrical, or other systems on tank trailers.
• Perform tank service and repair tasks.
• Install/repair trailer suspension components.
• Service air brake systems and repairs.
• Weld using TIG/MIG on various metals.

We are currently searching for DOT certified mechanics with 3-5+ year(s) of tank & trailer repair experience for our Joliet, IL location!

Shift Hours:Monday through Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm.

Pay Range: $22.00 to $39.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

(Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.)

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• TIG & MIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (preferred)
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)
• Must obtain a High School Diploma or GED

Physical Demands:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
