Job summary

Depot Connect International (DCI) is seeking a DOT-certified Trailer Mechanic for our Joliet, IL location. The role focuses on diagnosing failures and repairing tank trailers, with emphasis on mechanical, electrical and DOT‑related systems to meet industry standards.

Shift Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm. Pay Range: $22.00 to $39.00 per hour, dependent on experience, with skill-based pay reviews and potential increases every 6 months.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of tank and trailer repair experience.
• DOT certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures and repair mechanical, electrical, or other systems on a tank trailer.
• Perform tank service and trailer repairs.
• Install/repair trailer suspension components.

We are currently searching for DOT certified mechanics with 3-5+ year(s) of tank & trailer repair experience for our Joliet, IL location!

Shift Hours:Monday through Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm.

Pay Range: $22.00 to $39.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

(Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.)

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• TIG & MIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (preferred)
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)
• Must obtain a High School Diploma or GED

Physical Demands:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
