Reyes Fleet Management is hiring immediately for the role of a 1st shift Trailer Mechanic A for our site in Portage, IN. This role will primarily be responsible for handling repairs on new and refurbished trailers.

Shift: Full-Time Day Shift 4:10s or M-F-No weekends!

Pay: $28.00-$30.00/HR based on experience/qualifications

Position Responsibilities

• The Trailer Uplifting Technician is responsible for the refurbishment and remanufacturing of company fleet assets, diagnosing complex mechanical problems, and documenting work orders through the online AssetWorks system.
• Inspect, repair, and diagnose refrigeration and heating units, as well as hydraulic liftgate components.
• Assess the structural integrity and body of the asset, repair and replace parts as needed, and perform the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) annual inspection certification.
• Work in a safe manner and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 2 to 4 years of related experience.
• Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift 100 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles.
• Must possess own tools (have minimum tool requirement).

Preferred Education and Experience

• Technical School Certification.
