Job summary

R+L Carriers is seeking a Trailer Mechanic for our Rock Hill, SC service center. The role involves diagnosing and repairing trailers, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with FMCSA regulations.

The position runs Monday–Friday, 3:00p to 1:30a, with competitive benefits and vacation after 90 days. Candidates should be skilled in interpreting manuals, lifting up to 50 lbs, and using Cetaris or similar systems.

Qualifications

• FMCSA safety inspections and documentation experience required.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals.
• Experience repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems.
• Experience testing equipment to ensure manufacturer specifications and regulations.
• Experience in trailer PMs and repairs.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and own your tools.
• Dependable and adaptable to climate conditions.
• Preferred Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System experience; welding and yard tractor/trailer driving are a plus.

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Trailer Mechanics at our Rock Hill, SC. Service Center. As a Trailer Mechanic, your responsibilities will include the diagnostic process, repair work, and overall maintenance of our trailers.

Requirements

• Experienced in performing safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company, and any other Federal, State, or Local regulations
• Must be able to Interpret technical manuals
• Must have experience in repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems
• Experience in testing equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations
• Experience in trailer PMs and repairs
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must own your own tools
• Must be dependable
• Must be prepared to work in climate situation when needed.

Preferred

• Experience using Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System
• Welding
• Experience driving yard tractor/trailers
• Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles
• Sheet metal and composite panel repair
