Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a Traffic Design Engineer to apply electrical, civil, and systems engineering principles to traffic signal and roadway lighting projects, including CAD work and field tasks.

You will develop construction plans, prepare cost estimates, coordinate with other disciplines, and provide technical oversight while engaging with clients across the Southeast US. A PE license is required for civil candidates; EIT is acceptable for non-civil tracks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, systems, or civil engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 5-10 years' experience in the specialized discipline.
• Active PE license is required for civil candidates; EIT acceptable for non-civil candidates with plan to obtain NC/SC PE within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Traffic signal and roadway lighting design with CAD and field work.
• ITS, signal interconnection, and emerging traffic technology design.
• Signal timing at corridor level with field-based tuning.
• Prepare and compile construction plans, specs, and estimates.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and provide technical oversight.
