Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an ITS & Traffic Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Austin, TX. The role includes data compilation, reporting, and CAD-based schematic development to support traffic design projects.

The position emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and hands-on experience with engineers and project teams, with an emphasis on learning and professional growth throughout the internship program.

Qualifications

• Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
• No experience is generally required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and operations support.
• Compile data and prepare reports.
• Use CAD software (MicroStation and/or AutoCAD) to produce schematics, drawings and design plans.
• Assist with preparation of design plans and traffic signal models.
• Coordinate within organization unit to ensure policy and procedure consistency.
• Participate in project and organizational group meetings.
