Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Tampa, FL is seeking an ITS/Traffic Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to support transportation design, plan production, calculations and project documentation.

You will assist with traffic signalization, ITS, signing, pavement markings, and related tasks, using OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D to support drawings and CAD production; review field notes and as-builts, participate in field reviews and project coordination meetings.

Qualifications

• Must have completed 60 hours towards Civil or Electrical engineering degree from ABET accredited program by Summer 2027.
• Basic computer skills to enter data into spreadsheets and forms; proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Interest in traffic engineering and transportation design; ability to work in a team; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Support the ITS/Traffic Engineering team with transportation design, plan production, calculations and project documentation.
• Assist with traffic signalization, ITS, signing, pavement marking, and related transportation design tasks; use CAD tools to support drawings and CAD production.
• Review field notes, as-builts and existing conditions information; participate in field reviews and project coordination meetings.
• Support administrative and engineering tasks as assigned.
