Job summary

AtkinsRéalis USA Inc. is seeking an ITS/Traffic Engineering Intern for Spring 2027 in Tampa, FL. You will assist with transportation design, plan production, calculations, and project documentation, using OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D to support drawings.

The role requires pursuing a Civil or Electrical engineering degree (60 hours completed) with ABET accreditation, and basic MS Office/Excel skills. Office-based internship with potential field visits and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Completion of 60 hours toward Civil or Electrical engineering ABET-accredited program
• Interest in traffic engineering and transportation design workflows
• Basic data entry and MS Excel/Office proficiency

Responsibilities

• Support ITS/Traffic Engineering design tasks and plan production
• Assist with traffic signalization, signing, pavement marking and related work
• Use OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D to support drawings and CAD production
• Review field notes, as-builts and existing conditions to support design development
• Participate in field reviews and project coordination meetings
• Support administrative and engineering tasks as assigned
