Job summary

The State of Indiana, via INDOT's Greenfield District, is seeking a Traffic Field Investigator to collect and analyze traffic data and prepare recommendations for traffic control changes. You will work with field devices, perform data analysis, and respond to public inquiries.

Required to possess a valid driver license and obtain a Class A or B CDL within 90 days; ability to lift 50 pounds; and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather. A degree is not required.

Qualifications

• Valid drivers license required.
• CDL (Class A or B) within first 90 days of employment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical activities.
• Ability to read, write and communicate clearly; interpret technical documents.
• Willingness to work outdoors in inclement weather.

Responsibilities

• Calibrates, operates, and evaluates data from testing systems.
• Collects and analyzes field data for traffic studies.
• Prepares reports and recommendations on traffic control changes.
• Handles public inquiries regarding study locations and findings.
• Supports safety and maintenance activities as needed.
