Job summary

The State of Indiana, Indianapolis Unit, is seeking qualified candidates for CDL‑driven highway maintenance and inspection roles. You will operate highway maintenance equipment, perform winter operations, and assist with inspections and documentation.

A valid CDL (Class A/B) or obtaining one within 90 days is required, along with the ability to lift 50 pounds and work in all weather. Email [e-mail] for details.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL or obtain within 90 days.
• Must pass a drug test as a condition of employment.
• General knowledge of highway guidelines and regulations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow technical documents.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• CDL Class A preferred for some roles.

Responsibilities

• Operate basic highway maintenance and traffic equipment.
• Perform winter operations including snow and ice removal.
• Support inspections and documentation in the Work Management System.
• Maintain and repair traffic signs and route markers.
• Coordinate with supervisor to ensure materials and equipment are available.
• Attend assigned worksite days as required.
