INDOT’s Crawfordsville District in Indiana is seeking a land survey field technician. The role blends field data collection with office work such as CAD and GIS, supporting designers on highway projects. You may work with a field partner and assist in snow removal during winter.

A valid driver’s license is required, with CDL obtainable within 90 days. A degree is not required. Salary starts around $47,320 with a comprehensive benefits package in a government setting.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver license.
• Must possess a valid CDL (Class A or B) or obtain one within the first 90 days.
• Drug test required for employment.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
• Degree not required.

Responsibilities

• Calibrates, operates, and evaluates data from multiple specialized test systems; obtain CDL to assist in District snow removal operations.
• Follows all safety standards and participates in safety briefings.
• Performs research, preliminary data analysis and collects quality data on multiple testing systems.
• Performs calibration of test systems to federal/state specs.
• Maintains and upgrades laboratory test systems.
• Assists Laboratory Manager in conducting tests and data analysis.
• Assist with Facilities and B&G repair and maintenance.
