Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. seeks a Traffic Engineering Service Line Leader to expand capabilities across the firm, coordinating civil engineers, planners, and technicians working in multiple offices and markets.

This leadership role shapes a national practice, aligns regional efforts, and drives pursuit strategy while mentoring staff. Travel across the United States is expected as we grow the service line within our ESOP-owned organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 15+ years of traffic engineering experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Experience with operations, strategic planning, marketing, and business development.
• Hybrid work environment with dispersed teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead knowledge sharing and coordination across regional traffic teams.
• Support regional leaders with client-specific expertise and best practices.
• Develop networks and forums connecting staff across offices.
• Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing and mutual support.
• Align talent to opportunities and measure service-line outcomes.
• Advance an integrated traffic portfolio including safety, operations, and ITS.
• Drive strategic planning, priorities, and measurable growth targets.
• Support business development through win strategies and cross-office teams.
• Partner with clients and project leaders on complex work and proposals.
• Coordinate with other firms for partnerships on pursuits.
• Promote traffic practice leadership within the industry.
