Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems in Humble, TX is seeking a Traffic Control Technician II to set up and take down lane closures and ensure safety on state routes and other roadways.

Responsibilities include operating MOT and TMA vehicles, installing signs and safety devices, and performing routine equipment maintenance. A valid license, DOT-ready background, and ability to travel statewide are required.

Qualifications

• Must pass background check and motor vehicle records.
• Must pass drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
• Able to read and understand traffic control plans.
• Wear safety equipment and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and on work sites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to and from projects and on work sites to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs in work areas.
• Position arrow boards or variable message boards in work areas.
• Set up traffic cones and other traffic safety devices in work areas.
• Monitor the work zone throughout the shift for proper item placement.
• Load and unload traffic control items at shift start/end.
• Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts, and supports.
• Perform shop maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Adhere to safety rules and company policies.

Skills

Valid Driver's License

Traffic control experience

DOT compliance knowledge

Lift up to 70 lbs

Safety gear compliance

Read plans and traffic control plans

Willingness to travel statewide

On-call schedule

Mechanical background (preferred)

Education

ATSSA TCT intermediate training
