Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is seeking a Traffic Control Technician II to set up and take down lane closures, ensuring work zone safety and coordinating with survey crews. You will operate company trucks, drive MOT and TMA vehicles, and place signs and safety devices across state highways.

The role requires 1–3 years of experience, a valid driver’s license, ability to lift 70 pounds, and willingness to travel statewide with possible overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License.
• 1–3 years of traffic control experience with 2,000 field hours.
• Must pass background check including MVR.
• Must pass drug test and meet DOT requirements.
• Wear safety gear (boots with safety toe, hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest).
• Ability to read plans and ensure traffic control plans are implemented.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
• ATSSA TCT intermediate training required or willing to complete.
• Willingness to travel statewide with possible overnight stays.
• Rotating on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and work sites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs and position arrow boards or VMBs.
• Set up traffic cones and other safety devices.
• Monitor the work zone and ensure items remain in place.
• Load/unload traffic control items at shift start/end.
• Install/remove delineators, signs, posts and supports.
• Perform shop maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Follow safety rules and company policies.
