Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems, based in Buda, Texas, seeks a Traffic Control Technician II to set up and dismantle lane closures and supervise safety on job sites. You will drive MOT and TMA vehicles, place signs, and manage traffic control devices under project directions.

Candidate must have 1–3 years of traffic control experience, a valid driver’s license, and pass DOT, background, and drug tests. Travel statewide with occasional overnight stays is required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience and 2,000 in-field hours in traffic control.
• Must pass a background check, including motor vehicle records.
• Must pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
• Be able to read plans and ensure traffic control plans are implemented and maintained.
• Lift up to 70 pounds and travel statewide with possible overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT and TMA vehicles to project sites to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs and position arrow or variable message boards.
• Set up traffic cones and safety devices; monitor and adjust as needed.
• Load and unload traffic control items at shift changes; perform shop maintenance.
• Follow safety rules and company policies; work nights and weekends as required.
