Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is the leading national provider of traffic safety products and services, with 60+ locations across the United States. The Traffic Control Technician role focuses on setting up and removing lane closures while ensuring crew and worker safety on highways and roads.

The position requires driving company trucks and MOT/TMA vehicles, placing signs, monitoring the work zone, and performing routine equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Must pass a background check including motor vehicle records.
• Must pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
• Wear safety gear (boots with safety toe, hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest).
• Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds.
• Must complete ATSSA TCT intermediate training course.
• Willingness to travel statewide, with occasional overnight stays, and ability to work nights and weekends as required.
• Rotating on-call schedule required.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and on work sites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs in work areas.
• Position arrow boards or variable message boards.
• Set up traffic cones and other safety devices.
• Monitor the work zone and ensure items remain in place.
• Load traffic control items at shift start and end.
• Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts, and supports.
• Perform general shop maintenance on equipment.
• Follow safety rules and company policies.
